I saw this Tachinid in Tessin, Switzerland, at an altitude of approx 1950 m (Passo de Lucomagno). In a previous post, Theo explained that there are two Gonia summer species in Tessin, viz. capitata and bimaculata. This one looks definitely different from capitata, so is it bimaculata? - assuming my guess for Gonia is correct, of course! Half open coniferous forest. No Gonia, but Onychogonia. See recent thread on this matter Theo |
