Hi all,

Can somebody help me to identify this aquatic larvae? I've tried several keys and am yet to find anything that matches!

The larvae is about 2.5mm long from the tip of its head to the tip of its abdomen. It was found in April of this year in a small pond in south Wales with a clay base and slightly acidic (pH 6) water. It's a little hard to make out from the photo but there is a two-pronged filament coming from the tip of its abdomen but no other obvious appendages.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
