I'm waiting for our swedish book about Syrphidae so I have no literature on this family yet. Sorry to bother you with these common Eristalis species, but is this a male Eristalis interrupta?

fore tarsae = orange so it should be Eristalis pertinax

Why not buy the new Finnish book Grin It has illustrated keys in english (and finnish) for all Swedish species - and more!

I probably ought to get that. Any idea if that is any better than Danmarks Svirrefluer? I guess there might have been some new information since 1994. In danish it is possible to understand some words, but finnish is totally unintelligible (for me).
