In English, they are "calypteres" (singular calpyter). In old literature they are "squamae" (singular squama).

Calyptrata [Calyptra], Gruppe der Zweiflügler – Fliegen mit großen Schüppchen (Calyptra, Squama) am Flügel (Insektenflügel).

Ich werde weiter lesen.
