A single specimen, I saw it last Sunday near a stream, Huelva, Andalucía, Spain, 600 masl.

Should be, though I recently started wondering about the variation of the colour of this species. The above specimens Have much more dark and grey than others, that are clearly orange-yellow...

Miguel Carles-Tolrá apparently alos wondered about the variation. He reviewed Mediterranean inusta and ressurected punctifrons from synonymy and described the new species pseudoinusta. The pictures above are pseudoinusta.

Paul, do you know distribution of pseudoinusta?
i have what i think is M. inusta specimen, so i want to be certain of the id.
is there a difference in genitalia?

John and Nini. Naturalists not experts.

So far only the Iberian Peninsula up to the Pyrenees. And yes, genitalia are different. Rest assured, in Germany only inusta. In fully coloured specimens inusta has darkened fore tarsi, contrary to pseudoinusta.
