Hi there,
now that I,ve reduced the size of the picture you can see it hopefully !
I found this unknown robber-fly in the New Forest on 13th July. It was laying in the sunshine on some fencing. Size approx 20-25mm
The area is heathland with bracken/ferns on sandy soil, next to mature woodland.

Hi,

this is a Machimus / Tolmerus species. In Britain there is only Tolmerus atricapillus with such genitalia und such colour pattern of the legs.
