Added to the forum as an account of prey, which i believe is Capsus ater.
It was taken in Berkshire, England on June 3rd 2007.
Initially seen on a grass stem (edge of footpath) on the ancient woodland edge of a valley mire in a lowland heath site, disturbed and re-located to the bracken as pic.
Is this the done thing, useful information, etc.?

Darren.

Here's another, again from Berkshire, though from 20th June 2005. Seen in rough grassland, and possibly of interest because of a couple of attendant scavengers. Jackal Flies?

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
