Hello!

Can something be said about this 10 mm Tachinid from yesterday (Ostwestfalen/Germany)? Reminds a little bit at Eriothrix rufomaculatus in habitus and with the reddish flanks. Also on Thelaira.

From the general appearance I'd say it looks a bit like a Thelaira nigripes ... but it's hard to say for sure without a side-view of the head and another angle on the mid-tibia.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
