I photographed this fly on 24/03/2016 in Still bay region of South Africa around 5km from the coast. The fly is sitting on a lemon tree leaf. I looks like Musca autumnalis to me but it was quite large at around 9mm. Thanks Philip 4 Photos: Flippie attached the following image: ![]() [194.86Kb] |

There are about 40 described species of Musca in Africa, depending on how finely some species complexes are split. This is not domestica or sorbens. |
