Hi I'm new to this forum but it was recommended to me for help in identifying this fly.

Taken in Perros-Guirec in Northern Brittany, France on the 22 March. It was on a Passion Fruit flower stem and pretty lazy!

We have a micro climate here which may make a difference to what bugs we have, but I don't know for sure.

It's been suggested that it's a Hairy Mary Fly, but I can't find any photos to confirm this.

I thought at first it was a Robber Fly, but am certain it's not big enough for that.
