I photographed this fine Asilidae today in the countryside near Rome, about 8 mm long. Could it be a Dioctria?

I'm almost sure that is the same Dioctra? that Istrice have been posted inmediately after this Wink

I think it is without doubt (can you think without doubt?) the same species. Aldo (Istrice) is a good friend of mine and I know his photograph was taken not far from where I took mine in very similar habitat Wink.
