This hover fly seemed to be warming up in the first rays of the morning sun that shone through the trees.
It had a green metallic shine. Could it be Ornidia obesa?
Location: Izamal, Yucatan province, Mexico.

I agree with the genus. I cannot tell you whether it is the only possible species or not.
