Hello! Can somebody help me? We found that species in June on herbaceous area. Am I right, when i say this is not eupodes. Calypter with hair. Wing cell bm just partly trichose. Thanks Jürgen, you are right. I also think it's Eupeodes now. I think I misinterpreted the key, because calypter has hair, but only on the fringe. (can somebody confirm this assumtion?) Greets P |

Hello pengie, Jurge is correct. The only Eupeodes or Syrphus with such a large terminalia visible from above is E. corollae. There are always hairs on the somewhat thicker edge of the calypter, yes. They are positioned in a fringe pointing outwards. Syrphus sp. have hairs on top of the calypter pointing upwards. Greetings, Ectemnius |
