Dobry den, Mihailo This is a very interesting record. It looks like Bibio johannis at first glance, but my gut feeling shouted out NO. So I contacted the real expert, J.-P. Haenni, and he pointed out it is Bibio femoralis. The colouration and shape of hind metatarsus are characteristic and indeed that is what my gut saw. This is a pretty rare species and the record is from very early in the season. All credits to J.-P. Haenni for this. And if you can collect more, please do and send a couple over ! Greetings Theo |
