Hello,
is this a Brachypalpus? I found the fly on 1.6.2011 near Hermagor, Kärnten, Austria, sitting on a window.

Regards
Ingrid

Hello Ingrid,

This is indeed a Brachypalpus. The quite straight third tibia and the dusted frons suggest B. laphriformis.

Greetings,

Ectemnius
