Hi,

I'm use to see Rhagio tringarius quite often, but this one looks weird:

It's a male, abdomen is with black hairs, sternite 1 is bare and it's big (14mm) but coxae are all really grey.
Is it an common variation or am i wrong with the specie?

Do you have dorsal view? Or did you collect it? I have doubts about ID. It should be R. annulatus!

The humerus is clearly yellow, not grey as in R. annulatus. According to the key http://home.hccne...hagio.html, I'd vote for R. tringarius (the grey coxa 1 is voted out Smile).

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay.

Well, humerus are really more greyish than my usual tringarius, even if i'm not really doubtful about the specie, it really confused me.

I need to compare it with my collection for sure, but for 95% I believe my tentative ID as R. annulatus was correct.

There are more species in the south of France. Could you give locality and date, please ?
