This fly was trapped into a ship at Yangtze river, up to the Three Gorges Dam. The river is flanked by bamboo forest, Juniperus forest, dry mixed forest and hogh climbs. The fly size is about 15-20 mm, the normal size in an European Conops. I don't find anything about this fly. Can you help me?  Thanks. Regards

This fly is a Tephritidae: Bactrocera (Zeugodacus) sp., possibly tau. A large number of Bactrocera spp. are very serious agricultural pests. Eric |

Many thanks Eric!!!!!!!!! I don't think that can be identified. This fly is very big for a Tephritid, and the form is of a Conopid, by these reasons I thinked that is a Conopid fly, I'm new for dipterans and I don't know very much about them. I comproved it in Google and is identical for me! Thanks!  |
