Hello, I have problems to ID this Tachinidae, the thorax pattern is similar to the Exorista sp. but the wing veins are different, so I can exclude the Exorista genus. Another genus could be the Bithia genus, the wing veins look similar here. I see the reclinate orbital setae, 4 longitudinal strips on the scutum, postpronotum with 3 bristles, 2 achrostical presutural bristles, 3 presutural dc bristles, 4 postsutural dc bristles. Ok, I stop here and I hope someone help me to ID it. 20.10.2013 - Northeast Italy Tachinidae di Marcello Consolo, su Flickr Thanks for the help! That face shape is very distinctive - looks like Theo is spot-on with Microphthalma europea

Yes, I could have done worse..... Please always posts shots from more angles if available. In a laterai shot, it needs to b e totally bad to make Microphthalma unrecognisable ! Theo |
