I can't tell you what it is, but looking at it makes me wonder whether these acrocerids are mimicking flies that have died from an Entomophthora fungus. Such an appearance would make them less attractive to predators while they are sitting on vegetation.

Ogcodes zonatus is right. Looks like the most common Ogcodes in Iberia (Portugal + Spain). I second the gentleman Tony Irwin. Smile

Submit your photo to the gallery. Go to the left column and look for the Gallery Links. Click in the plus sign and then it will appear the option so you can submit the photo! Beware about the family of the fly (Acroceridae) in the drop menu and put a link to this thread. (use http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=57033 below your data on fly. note: the http and 57033 shouldn't have any spaces between the brackets!
