the other flower fly

Here is the other flower fly coming to Alpine Aster Aster alpigenus in the alpine above Juneau, Alaska yesterday on Sept 15. Most flowers in the alpine were gone and these were the only medium sized insects I found all day. Thrips and midges were the other ones.

Any help with identification would be great appreciated.

In Europe I's say Sericomyia. And, please, put the syrphid flower flies in the syrphid forum? Cheers!
