Hello all,

I am in search of persons who could help in the collecting of adult specimens of both Tipula paludosa and Tipula oleracea. I am starting a project working with these species and I am need of adult specimens, collected into 95% ethanol, from as many location in North America and Europe as I can get. Both species are pretty common, often being the most common species of crane fly within grassland, pasture, or home lawn settings. Identification of both species is also pretty easy. I can help with ID help if needed.

If you would be willing to help I would be very grateful and would pay for shipping/vials needed for the collections.

If you would be willing to help I can we can talk more off board to set out the specifics.

Thanks for the help!

Matt Petersen

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
