I think this is an Asilidae. I found it indoors today in Suffolk, UK. It is about 1.8 cm long. Although not obvious in this photo, I checked the top of the head and it is concave with a little platform for the ocelli. Is there enough information in the photo to determine the species?

Regards,
Martin

Hi Martin,

A male Tolmerus (Machimus, Epitriptus) cingulatus (Asilidae).

Should be 10-14mm.

Its regular on sandy soils in Suffolk.
Cheers,
Steve
