I understood that this was Chalcidoidea: that was code for .... "someone i don't know kindly told me" ...

Not so - thank you Paul - just a little over 2 mm - runs about on leaves in sunlight. Two views of the same insect in a composite image.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
