 Echthistus rufinervis?

I found these flies near Ásotthalom, about 30 km W of Szeged, S. Hungary, on 01-VII.2012. The picture seems to show a case of cannibalism: the female appears to feed on a male of the same sp. Metatars 1 and 2 very short, thus, yes an Echthistus. tibiae red at their tips and no black bristles behind the eye (all yellow, but difficult to see in the photo's), making it E. rufinervis.

Wow, thanks a lot! I understand what you mean by the poorly visible hairs behind eyes, but as far as I can make it out in my full-size pictures, they are all yellow. Thanks again, and all the best, Henrik |
