Hi,

I'd like to have your opinion with this male of Sphaerophoria sp, because I have the bad habit to think about S. scripta anytime I meet some Sphaerophoria...

Since abdomen extends beyond wings, this one should also be S. scripta, is it true ?

some of the Sphaerophoria species can be only identified by the genital characteristics of the males, so it' s npt easy to say if you are right or not. but maybe there is somebody else who can say you more than me about this species.
nice picture.
Best wishes,
Amalia

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
