Hi all,

I have some crazy midge from this summer, in a shady forested area.
Normally I don't do those Nematocera, but this one struck my attention.

I assume it to be some Ceratopogonidae, but I'm not shure of that.
Any help on family ID is welcome,

sorry for the bad pictures.

Cheers

Thank you both,
allready more then I expected!
Is there any literature available to ID this one? I found some keys to Holarctic and Australian Serromyia, but not for Palearctic..
Bye

Thank you, luckily, the PDF is online (http://decapoda.nhm.org/pdfs/37065/37065.pdf)
I will have time this weekend to check all features. I will get back here once ID is complete.

I'm really astonished by this one :-)

Thanks!
