Do the online catalogue acceptable?

Dear all,
recently do using an online catalog such us eol.org, catalogoflife.org and etc are acceptable for scientific publication (such as in Zootaxa or Zookeys)???. especially in citing of synonyms. because you know mostly the online catalog are not indicated specific paper in order put an synonyms. so finally just found species name with author and date.
please that have experience before.Smile

I wouldn't refer to any dynamic site, like the ones you mention because the links are unlikely to remain constant, as they would in a reference to a written, paper publication.
