Is it correct ? Maybe Medetera the victim. Is it possible to go beyond ? Around 4 mm. each one. Thanks

Does not look like Medetra to me, with tergites apparently yellowish.

Thanks Paul Please, see www.diptera.info/...ost_219571 I could see many Platypalpus and some Medetera (?) very close. The victim seems Medetera or very close species to me. Edited by Manuel Lopez on 29-10-2012 17:55 Manuel |

I thought about Argyra but it seemed to be pretty small compared to a Platypalpus.

Argyra species have a body length of 4-8 mm. How large are Platypalpus species? |

Rarely above 4 mm. The largest is P. major (what is in a name?) but that one looks different. Perhaps it is the giant of one species takng on the dwarf of another...
