Could someone help me identifying these fly?
The photo was made near Barcelona, Catalonia, on 1.4.2008.

it looks like a Lonchaeid to me! broad black/blue thorax, no obvious setae on tibiae - are you seeiing something that I am not? .. best wishes . Iain

Hi Iain,
there is a complete suture on scutum, the subcosta is well separated from R1 and the tarsi seems too long for any Lonchaeidae.
This is really the habitus of Hydrotaea ignava group, with a long frontal triangle, and, lightening the picture, the classical Muscidae chaetotaxy is guessable.
Maybe Jordi can submit another picture which can remove suspicions...
