Hallo!

It is my first time here!

Locality: Austria, Upperaustria, Grein/Donau, found in a very old (slimy) Macrolepiota procera (stalk) on my hoghland cattle pasture; ca. 3-4mm; 24.September 2012

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Ira !

To me I think it is a Phoridae larvae and it shows resemblance with Dohrniphora cornuta as depicted in Smith (1989)...immature stages..., page 188, fig. 239.
or perhaps: Platypezidae.

Considering the host fungus it's most likely to be Kesselimyia (Platypezidae). See also:

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
