Pattern seems to match Tabanus bromius in the Gallery..but just a guess..we don't have any Tabanidae up here luckily. http://www.dipter...to_id=4611 |

For the next time you see a horsefly, I hope to know what it is, and the importance of the front jacks .. On this occasion, not knowing what it was, I tried two laterals. But in both shots, the gadfly was faster than my flash shot, and only photographed the plant that had settled. ![]() Best regards. |
