Hello,
while waiting for a butterfly from the Geometridae family the situation changed below the kitchen paper where the caterpillar pupated before. On the photo you can see what I found below the paper. The size of the tachinid pupa is 8 mm. Unfortunately, I missed hatching of larva. Now I am waiting for the fly. What is the timeframe for hatching? The photo was taken on 22th July.
Thank you,
Marion

Should be a few weeks but do let us know what it looks like when it hatches Smile

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
