Can someone help to get the family of these? I'm guessing Muscidae for the first and Anthomyzidae for the second, but just guesses. The first one is almost 1 cm long, the other two are about 3mm long. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yes, third pic is Chloropidae, but seems characters cleared or lost in the white background, do you have more photos?
Sincerely yours Sara |

Thanks I don't have more, these were very energetic and wouldn't stop even for cleaning themselves, only one of each was what I got. I'll probably be able to catch the same species in the days to come and try more pictures. Edited by Techuser on 03-08-2012 16:20 |

1) Muscidae, probably Coenosiinae. 2) I think Anthomyzidae (but remember that Neotropical Aulacigastridae looks similar to them...). 3) Chloropidae, indeed. "Não por acaso são os insetos tão apaixonantes" Subjects: Taxonomy, Systematics, Biodiversity. Area: Neotropical Region, Caatinga. Families: Ctenostylidae, Cypselosomatidae, Helosciomyzidae, Micropezidae, Muscidae, Neriidae, Pseudopomyzidae, Syringogastridae, Somatiidae. |
