Over here (Europe) I would say Rhinophoridae, in the US I'm not so sure. Joris

(This one doesn't look too dissimilar: http://bugguide.net/node/view/57795, http://blog.insectmuseum.org/?tag=rhinophoridae)

pjoris, thanks so much, that looks like a great match. From what I read on the insectmuseum.org site you mentioned, your European Melanophora roralis came to the United States and Canada long ago, and is our only species in the family (depending on how you define the family). Thanks again, that was very helpful!

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
