Found today 5 july 2012 op Fomes fomentarius fungi on Fagus sylvatica . The flies were at the fresh underside of te fungi. Who can assist to tell the species.

The ones I find in that habitat are always Odinia boletina - but this is more or less a geuss?

Hi Mark,
That would make it easy. The last picture shows in anycase that it blends in very well with the host species through its spots on the abdomen. So it may well have evolved with this fungi and thus may be boletina.
