I am stuck with this Bibionid. The nearest I can get is B.ferrugineus, which is scarce (UK), or B.lanigerus, which is not. This is by eliminating all species in the key which do not fit. Main characters are long whitish hairs on thorax and abdomen, very long eye hairs, r-m equal to basal section of R4+5, well defined costal mark, hind metatarsis 4:1 ratio length to width and shape of hind femur/tibia. |
