Hi all, Can anyone tell me the probable cause of the grey fungus? spiraling from this dead Empis tessellata? Did it develop post mortem or is it the cause of death which I believe to be more likely as the fly appeared quite 'fresh' in appearance. Picture taken 12 June 2012 at Brandon Marsh, Warwickshire, U.K. (Thanks Tony for your ID to my last post).
