I have previously uploaded another one that I think is the same fly. Could anyone confirm it?

I think it is the same fly and I see another 'difference' with the regular Empis tessellata in addition to the completely dark fore legs: the genitalia and tip of the abdomen appear to be rather glossy where as in the 'regular' tessellata they seem to be more pruinose. The absic shape of the genitalia does agree with tessellata but with an oblique view it is difficult to be certain. Can anyone please collect some males and females and send them to me? It seems to be abundant enough at the moment. Wink

These pictures were taken in May. I do not know if we can find them a the moment. Anyway if I find them, I would not mind to send several specimens to you. Thank you for tour time Paul.

Regards

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
