These were swarming in my garden this weekend.
I know chironomids are pretty much impossible but can anyone get me further than family?

The femora appear red-brown in contrast to the grey of the rest of the leg, (but this may be an artefact as the eyes also appear reddish in the lateral view but grey in the frontal view). There is also a suggestion of a black mark on the central dorsal thorax.
