Dear all,

Last month I have collected 4 female Eupeodes nielseni type flies in the Netherlands. I am not sure however whether I can exclude luniger, the former is uncommon in the Netherlands.
Compared to luniger they differ in:
- having largely black margins of T5
- large rectangular spots on S3-4
- much black on frons
- relatively small spots on T2-4
- basis femur ca 30% black.

However, I cannot find many black hairs at the base of femur 1.
Does anybody have an idea whether these individuals are at the dark end range of luniger or whether they are nielseni?
You can see pictures of two individuals here:

Thanks in advance for any help in the ID,
