It's a diptera belonging to Tachinidae family, Cylindromyia genus.
Can you please give me the specific id?

Location: Caltanissetta, Central Sicily, Italy.
Altitude: 550 mt

Cylindromyia is a pretty difficult genus.

This one looks like a male C. auriceps.

My only thoughts were "close to auriceps" but I find that they need very careful examination to achieve a confident ID ... but they are not difficult in the same sense as, Gymnosoma. Smile

Chris is right, the species are clear, the features are not as plastic as in Gymnosoma but simply difficult to see on picture.
