I am nearly convinced this is Miltogramminae. Taken in Asturias, N Spain, near a beach on the 7th April 2012. Thanks in advance for any help!! Smile

A detail of the thorax.

Took loads of decent pictures so I can provide more details if necessary.

Thanks Jorge!! The shape of the abdomen and the small size fooled me. No wonders that I was totally lost trying to get the genus awkward awkward

Any chance to get the genus or the real subfamily??

This is a species of Sarcophaga (sensu lato), subfamily Sarcophaginae. Difficult to guess at the subgenus without seeing the male genitalia, but it may well be a species of Sarcophaga (Myorhina).

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
