I think it's Tachinidae, although the R4(?) bend seems strangely close to the tip...

Hoping other people can expand.

Quite small, 5mm perhaps an over-generous estimate.

in setaside between hedgerow and bare field (recently tilled)

Bosham, West Sussex, UK.

and the wing (colour balance shifted to improve visibility, wing without colour-shift slight smoky gray, nothing to write home about).
