 There were good numbers of these flies on heathland (England) yesterday. About 10mm. Could anyone help with the species? Thanks.

 This species seems to be doing well recently Smile
Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London.
