Another mystery image from spring. The head is too large for Actina, so this will be a Beris sp, I think. The hairs on the head are longer and thicker than they should be for any B. species based on my literature.

I'm not sure that any of the Beris species have such swollen hind tibiae. is this not the male of Actina? (We don't have the species in Britain, so I have no first-hand knowledge of it.)
