Hello!

Sorry for the bad picture quality. I guess, this 5 mm fly from our garden today (northwest Germany) is a male Anthomyiid. Is it possible to tell more? (Lasiomma sp.?)

If the eyes are hairy Lasiomma would be a good bet. If not, perhaps the Egle season has started? Not enough detail to tell. Try to get lateral as well as dorsal shots Wink

Thank you, Stephen! Egle was the other genus, which came into my mind Smile. Unfortunately this was the only picture, the fly allowed. I hope to get some better ones next week. In the moment it is rather late winterly here, but there is sun and 17 °C progosed from thursday on...
Best regards,
Jürgen

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
