Although this one isn't a great image (and none of the ones of this were) I kept it because I hadn't expected to see anything flying around at the time of year (I certainly wouldn't have left the house if I had the option). 20.11.2011 Flint shingle at upper edge of saltmarsh, Bosham, West Sussex. i would guess it's a Scatophaga because the tick carpet of golden hairs on pleura |

No, it isn't a Coelopa, it is probably Scathophaga litorea.
