My guess is Wagneriini but I can't be sure  Are you sure the eyes are hairy and not just dusty?

Eyes could be dusty Chris, I wasn't sure but there looks to be a fine fuzz along both eye edges. Wagneriini isn't in the list I have, did it have a name in a previous life? I think it represents Wagneria, Ramonda, and Periscepsia? Ramonda latifrons? I have the host Mythimna ferrago. Maybe not, "There is a recent record from Devon (1978)." http://cubits.org... |

Sorry, yes - Wagneriini are Wagneria, Ramonda etc. ... all characterised by having strong bristles down the length of the parafacial (not visible here) and a petiole on the median vein (just visible) ... and bare eyes. Ramonda often has shaded wing veins to a greater or lesser extent and this very concave median vein after the bend so my educated guess would be Ramonda spathulata ... I have tons of them from April/May.

Yeah, it's a bit tenuous but just mark them with the thread that they appear in and Matt can check them to see whether he agrees. Two opinions are useful in some cases ... whether the ID is correct and whether we can see enough to be sure.
