The specimen has the subscutellum swollen, the posterior spiracle with hairs and bristles on the gena, but r4+5 is not petiolate. Any suggestions? Jorge attached the following image: ![]() [19.27Kb] |

This is Sphenometopa spec (Sarcophagidae, Miltogramminae). I think this is S. fastuosa but I would need better pictures or a look at the specimen. Liekele Edited by Liekele Sijstermans on 17-02-2012 22:41 |

Liekele, the specimen is undoubtedly Sphenometopa fastuosa, thanks for your help ![]() Chris was right, a more thorough review of subscutellum was key to solving the mystery. By the way Chris, I liked your site, very useful for working Tachinidae. |
