Anthomyiidae_Leucophora grisella(female) is correct? Region Malá Fatra Terchová about 600 m above sea level. Thank you very much for your help. I made a photo of 14.06.2011.

Anthomyiidae female, but not Leucophora (I don't think the parafacial is wide enough, and the costal spines before the break are too strong). There seems to be a strong pre-apical pd on the hind tibia. What does anyone else think of Botanophila jacobeae/apiciseta as a possibility? |

I get more a Phorbia feeling..... Unfortunately i have not many Phorbia female species to compare with. |

Yes, I see what you mean. I rather discounted Phorbia because the cerci didn't look backward-pointing and upcurving like the ones I have seen have seen -though it's hard to tell from the photo, and I have only seen 2 species  . Also I didn't see a clear av on t2, though there could well be one. |

I think to see a small fine av on the first photo (on the second photo difficult to see and looks like one of the preapical setae) The shape of the antenna,protruding forehead and strong costal spines seems also typical for Phorbia. But.....a terrible Genus on photos  And i really have to collect more Phorbia species this year! Edited by javanerkelens on 09-02-2012 21:10 |
